Ignoring the daft name for a minute, this looks like it's going to be another Capcom winner on the Wii - it's a point & click adventure & it's released this week (in the US)

Basically the story concerns a boy pirate & his golden flying monkey & they travel level to level searching for treasure; nothing special there of course, but it all looks positively charming & the puzzle-solving is built around using the Wii controller in a variety of ways.

There's some media here - http://www.gametrailers.com/game/4660.html

& an IGN review here - http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/829/829301p1.html

I love it when sleepers appear like this, & the fact that it's Capcom at the reins fuels my desire even more - hopefully it'll have the wit & entertainment factor of the point & clicks of yore.

Anyone else fancy this?

Yeah man, I'll be giving this a crack. Prolly a bit later mind, 'cause I've got LOADS of other stuff to get through first. >_<

It certainly looks like good fun, and of course, it's got a flying monkey!! I'm in!

So I played the first level of this last night. It's pretty much a training mission, but based on that alone my expectations are high. It's a really beautiful looking game with really strong visuals and characters. Essentially this is a point and click adventure with puzzles based around using the remote. Thinking about it the Wii is ideally suited to point and click adventure games.

Trial and error point and clickyness.

Fills that gaming genre hole I'd never known I was missing.

Some puzzles have taken me 30 mins, and have been quite rewarding in that totally old school point and click way. Spent alot of time reading an incredibly small font too (shades of Dead Rising?).

Another Wii game I am perfectly happy to slap on for a 30mins bashola. I;m not even bothered by the trial and error, because so far the deaths have been through impatience or stupidity not terrible design.

That and the death animations are pretty funny. It reminds of Dragon's Lair in that respect.

I wedged it on for a another sesh last night... absorbing stuff... it seems to give you one level where its instadeath when you make a mistake then the next level is more relaxed puzzling without that shadow of doom over you.

Stuff like flipping the objects by flipping action the wii remote is sooo goshed cool. 100% Wii Remote integration is impressive. It's wierd being educated to literally turn over an object and lay it down, and thats the puzzle! and it actually is! THere's a diagram telling you what you need to do, you do it, it works, its cool!

This sounds AMAZING! In terms of difficulty Jib is this aimed at kids or is it a happy medium. I need to fire this up and give it some more time it seems.

That's if I ever finish boarding out the loft Sad. Chores suck.

At the moment I'd say it is quite tuff.

I can't imagine a kid getting past the first levels tbh.

But it is the exploration-em-up in so much as, like an point and click, it can be a question of just pointing and poking until things start working... with the added motion controls, and a metal flying monkey that turns into a bell thats an offensive weapon / covertor thing.

So maybe I am doing kids a disservice.

But it definitly NOT a newgen kids game, i.e. you don't just push up and A when it tells you. Its intellegent with a kids veneer. There is some madass capcom characterisation going on too.

Man, two years... what with my Wii blowing up, and getting the PAL version, I spent some time last night and finally got past a puzzle my head was stuck on, for apparently, TWO YEARS!!!

So that was rewarding.

Really enjoying it, almost getting into the head of the designers, so the more esoteric, oh you reanimate a snake near a hole to scare a frog stuff... I can get... the accidentally changing a worm into a straw and not being able to hook it on a fishing rod it where I am getting stuck.

Nope I've still barely touched my copy. This along with No More Heroes stares down at me from the shelf from time to time and shames me.
