Got a good go on this at the BBC Good Food Show today, and it's fun stuff. There's a small diagram before each game showing you how to hold the remote, so non-gamer people won't get frustrated with what they're meant to be doing.
Same as all the other Wario Ware's really - a set of games then a boss at the end. Some of the ideas are genius - I especially liked the shaking and then spraying of a bottle of champagne. The speaker and vibrate function add a little extra too.
Let's face it, you know what you're getting with Wario Ware, but it's still great fun while it lasts, and if anything can convert the non-converted to the Wii, it's this; pure, simple fun. Just a shame it missed the US and PAL launches.

Interesting impressions. For me the series peaked with Twisted, but the cube version was great fun as a party game. Hopefully this will be more multiplayer goodness.
The first few months of the Wii are seeing some strong titles from Nintendo.
This, along with Wii Play, makes owning a US system kind of suck - or will soon
Wario Ware is very important for the Wii I reckon, it needs to work and work well.
Wii Play may well be a slow burn system seller too, if it is as good as some people are hinting at.

Yeah, but these will get US releases eventually won't they? I'm still secretly hoping for a Wii mod or action replay deviance... If not then it's another bloody machine.
Januaryish for both of them I believe.
Free Wii Remote with Wii Play... don't know if thats compulsory though.
Something to look forward to in the new year then. I'll have a full compliment of Remotes before then anyway, so the additional controller doesn't really bother me that much. Probably keep it as a spare.
Or just sell it to me!
- better than letting me spend the money on hookers and crack.

By "Free" I meant bundled. I've been brainwashed by Nintendo merchendise.
I hope the Wario game isn't as weak as Touch! Wario... although good, it was kinda disintegrated by Twisted!! as an overall product.
We really haven't had a console console Wario yet... does anyone know hte format of this one, it looks "bigger" than the GameCube idea. I.e. Full on Wii versions instead of GBA mix ups.

My God, its full of stars....
Virtually all of that made me want the VC even more. Can't wait for this to hit.
Looks good. Seems like they've found plenty of unique uses for the controller other than using it as a pointer. If this is multi then it will be a superb party game.
Some really good Iwata discussion on this one:

Check out the first 7 Form Baton movement pics at the end...
OMGz. We caned this for ages at my place this weekend. It had me nearly vomiting with laughter.
So many good bits I don't know where to begin. The Starfox bit is truly mind-blowing - it teases you so much that it isn't worth playing as it's over before the feeling has even kicked in.
The dancing boss level is aces. Importaku had to get up and do the 4 man bum-train dance as the remote wouldn't let him get away with just 'pretending' to do the moves sat down.
The Wii is the future for sure. If Nintendo fail with getting this across you might as well give up gaming as the medium will be going nowhere otherwise.

!
its the inner workings of my mind in a computer game again.
must start wearing foil hats.
That's incredible!
I was going to order that aswell but I wouldnt touch it unless people people come round, plus when people come round it's only around an hour before we're to caned to do anything that involves moving.

Went through the single player this morning and loved almost every second (there are a few games that don't quite work). Assuming you play it properly (i.e. do all the correct poses instead of sitting down on the sofa) I can't imagine you having more joyous fun with anything else on the Wii - it's just brilliant
Highlights include 9-Volts set of Ninty themed games (including the Starfox end game) the dance off finale and, strangely, the credits - they've created a Mii for every member of staff that worked on the game.
As has been said, this is really a party game, but while it lasts, the main game is an absolute hoot too.
I really can't wait for this, the 9-volt games especially look amazing.
Tommorow for the US release - come on!
"Is that a DS lite?"
I've suddenly got all excitmotronic about this.
FedEx better not go Tom Hanks on me!
mine's shipped. I just can't get enough Wii at the moment. I'm finding time to play it every day. This is going to be a great party game. Hopefully Bel will enjoy it too, I remember she was rather taken with the original on GBA.
Mine has shipped too...
CAN
NOT
WAIT!
boowhahahaha mines arivedzorz.
Gonna take an extended lunch break... to break it in...
HAVE A ROTTEN DAY!
Yeah, whatever...this game was soooo last week!
Maximum Awesomitude!
Can't wait to get some multiplayer on this bad boy!
My housemate was well entertained by my rope skipping.
May your aural and nasal passages be forever infested with unmanagable ginger hair.
(mine could be waiting for me at home then... )
Soooooo,
this is really rather good isn't it. They've jigged with the format a bit to make the first play through nice and quick. I think we finished the main game in about an hour, but I've got to go back and unlock all of the toys and games.
Love the discard form and the later games with the balancing stone, some real crackers in there. Yet to try multi.
You've gotta try the Bungie Brothers (or whatever it's called) in the multiplayer - great fun. You HAVE to do the pose at the end though - otherwise you're officially rubbish.
All good except the Star Fox game is randomly generated foes... so it might as well not exist..
We should all stick to a character and get some score chasing on. Possibly 9 volt? I've not got that far into any of them really, the challenge does mount up quite hysterically.
I hit 9 volt hard last night, interspersed with unlocking all the elephants...(success)
9 volt I got past the 3rd Star Fox stage (Ice) and managed the late 50s score wise, I forget the details... the conducting game kept screwing me up, you do have to do a U shape repeatedly, should try that on the single game select screen. Something else I kept getting wrong....
So 9 volt 5X (I'll check that tonight)
