USB ftw! That means you could probably use it on the Wii and 360 too (not mention on the PC for various old school shmups).

Yep, apparently the stick is using Sanwa parts. Hope it's not gonna end up commanding stupid prices though.

I'm pretending this whole VF5 on PS3 thing isn't real.

USB Sticks aren't going to help me neither...

Let's hope there is a PC release around the corner, that'd be handy.

Although I suspect the Sony have exclusivised this bad boi.

Well VF4 hardly set the PS2 world alight due to the widespread availability of the arcade in Japan. Still this is the first PS3 exclusive that has me just a little bit excited. Smile

How cool does VF4 in VF1 gfx sound?? Pretty gosh darn cool thats what.

It's from that CVG article -

Seriously I have no idea why these lot are all getting excited over VF5, it'll be VF4 all over again; they'll complain it's too deep/complicated for them and jump on anything else that comes along that has a better texture here and there.

Economically this is great!

I was very prepared to stump up for a PS3 and VF5 and have it flown on a private jet from Japan on launch.

Now I can just chill with the still, wait until Xbox 360.5 turns up with its 65nm chips and integrated HDDVD player with money printing attachment and.... ahhhhhhhhh.... Kage up!

I still have the Devil May Cry 4 problem...

As it stood the PS3 meant I could have VF5 and DMC4 - those were the reasons I had to buy one. Now there's only one reason...
Dont talk to me about Blu-Ray movies either, I work for a distributor and am SICK of watching movies and never watch them at home!

I want Blue Dragon and now that VF5 has been announced and USB sticks are A-Go-Go-Baby it's about getting hold of a Japanese 360.

This is INSANE NEWS! I was always thinking if there was a set of games that would never come to the 360, this would be one of them. Brilliant news, we have been STARVED for fighters for a while. ^_^

Laughing out loud...shit, i keep checking the Eurogamer link to see if this was a hoax or somthing. x)

The thing with the 360, is that all controllers and perephirals that released it for, MS has to give it the go ahead by certifying the device so it works.

However...

;D

Seems like people have figured a way around it. WIN!

While the PS3 gets the small window of exclusivity, I know a lot of people who were on the fence about buying on just for this game (me included, I can't be stopped!) now have one less reason to wait in line for the console, knowing that not only will the game come to 360, but that the Virtua High Grade arcade-style sticks with wired USB cords will work with the Xbox. Now that this one's out of the way, what other seemingly PS3-exclusive mega-monster-title will find its way to Microsoft's resilient box? I'll let you figure that one out. But to all the people who confidently stated that "No way VF5 goes to 360," guess what? You get to take two steps back and eat a big "told you so."

Looks like the stick will be authorised\certified by MS anyway.

Saurian wrote:

Apparently, VF5 in Japan is exclusive on the PS3, and in the west is released on both consoles. Being released 6 months later in Japan wont do any more favors for the 360 over there anyway. Will try and find the source for that info...

Would of been perfect otherwise. Could of got VF5, Senko no Ronde, Blue Dragon and then got anyother releases via the Chinese\HK region versions.

Shock

Well that's PS3 knocked way into touch for me at the moment. Looking like a very late 2007 or even a 2008 purchase. Now if they can make it work over live (and I know that's a tall order with the frame based gameplay) then seriously Shock

So what are the options w.r.t. sticks. Obviously this game will demand quality switchgear. If the virtua stick in this thread is USB I'm guessing it will work on the 360, PS3 and PC Smile or maybe my USB to DC stick adaptor will work :?

Frankly this game and VT3 are what my 360 has been waiting for. Now all we need is Climax and the circle will be complete.

I'm going in there tonight to pick one up for a mate. I can't remember how much they are, but they're not the £20 rip off price they are everywhere else. I'll keep you posted Smile

Nice one man - the one I was going to order was over £30 - as long as it's not a long cable I'm up for it, a 1 meter one would be perfect.

From memory it's a short cable, but it's kind of hard to tell when it's all curled up in a blister pack.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=181155

Ah it's 2m by the sounds of it and £4.99. Ignore the idiots on that forum it's clearly full of morons.

I'm telling you Lidl is absolutely sick for the odds and sods stuff. They've had loads of my money already and it's only been open a few months. They were selling a really nice battery charger for £4 which I purchased. They're doing 8 in 1 remotes for a fiver at the moment too, which had me tempted.

Hell I even splashed out £20 on one of those wireless AV link kits (S-Video and composite only) with a view to using it as a quick way of hooking the wii up to a projector whilst still having the machine and sensor bar under the screen somewhere. Kinda stoopid as I don't even have a projector TT_TT

Well I went in last night and they weren't on sale in my branch this week. They do this weird stock rotation thing where they move stuff like that from branch to branch, so just because it's not in Reading doesn't mean it's not in a different Lidl if you see what I mean. It's just fucking typical that when you want something it's moved out of rotation Sad

There's another branch not a million miles away, so if I get time I'll check there at some point. Wish I'd picked up a bunch of them for a fiver now Sad

Awesome, awesome stuff!!

An absolute flawless arcade conversion from what I can see. Played this extensively whilst I was out in Japan last-year and first thing I noticed other than the faultless conversion, was the finer details in the game you miss out on. Owing to the fact no doubt, that your so wrapped in a battle against your opponent, you don't notice the water splashing up from Lion's hands in the Ruins for example. The combat itself aside, there are so many nice little touches in this game.

Quest Mode is fucking great fun, taking the Japanese arcade scene and cramming it into a BD disc sans the hoards of other players and cigarette smoke. You visit different "arcades" pitting your skills against other "players" and in "tournaments" for various loot. If you wanna keep it easy, you can. But the real challenge is seeing your fare against the higher ranked players and sure enough, the arse kicking is not too far away.

The game does a good job of showcasing the PS3's graphical prowess, with not a hint of screen-tearing or glitching in sight. It looks solid and plays the exact same way. Although, you will NEED a stick. Playing this on a pad really, really is like playing with one arm tied behind your back.

I've managed to beat a good few 10th dan "players" along the way. The game really does co-erce you into thinking about how you approach a battle; watching for your opportunity to strike and to make those hits count. Make the wrong move and your completely fucked, since the AI will maximise that opportunity.

My QM progress current sits at 2nd dan (50 wins and 0 losses). I know it's a different type of 3D fighter to that of DOA4, but fuck me, this really does make it - and a lot of other fighters - pedestrian in comparison.

A hacked SIXAXIS DC Stick Hybrid would be mint. Doesn't the SIXAXIS charge off of USB? Does it have one of those mini USB ports on it? If so it should be a fairly simple hack job, you might need a panel mount USB port Smile
