Apparently the film no longer has size changing during transformation, which is why Megatron is no longer a gun.
I don't have a big problem with the design changes to be honest, but what I've read of the story itself... I'm just ignoring the whole thing until it has gone away.
It's almost impossible to see how that thing up there becomes a truck. The whole point of the original designs (in my limited opinion) was the characters maintained an identity in Robot and vehicular form. Prime's chest is the front of the truck, that's what makes the whole transformation thing so neato! These new designs just don't work for me. They're really over fussy.

The good thing about the movie is that we got the license to do the Comic and its allowed all the original Transformer guys to get back into it after finnin for some more for years. They've obviously had to simplify the 'look' of Megatron and use the new characters but there is also room for some 'classic' tales so the old styles will return (even though they are just in drawn form).
as a horror fan i dislike Mr Bay for remaking the texas chainsaw massacre into dog tripe.
But this is just fecking nuts ! I read they were going for the insectoid look...but they should have just left it for..err..wait...THE SMEGING INSECTERCONS !

hehe, i gotta admit its not as bad as it used to be. Recently some directors have done their homework or have just been fans for once, rather than just doing it for the paycheck.
Hellboy was great and kept close to the theme.
Sin City was also very groovy and near identical even script wise.
AvP ...oh dear, i still have my Dark Horse books and that film should be sent to the fires of the nearest hell.
Im just Hopeing that 30 days of night and 300 dont get messed up.
