Is there love for Opa Opa here?
There's a nice preview video of the Sega Ages release here;

The first Sega Ages PS2 remake was pretty decent too.
Fantasy Zone is 100% classic early Sega, loved the Master System version when I was a kid, and still enjoy it now.
I've been playing Fantasy Zone on the SMS and Super Fantasy Zone on the Mega Drive recently, so not sure I really need this
Read a while back that Opa-Opa was a character from the Zillion anime, which Sega had a hand in at the time (guns look like Master System light phasers for example).
In fact yeah, look at the screen grab here:

Zillion was brilliant -
These guys subbed it but not sure if it's still available;

I never did get into Fantasy Zone when I was a kid, no idea why - but recently I've been watching vids of it and badly want to play what I've missed. The remakes on the new Sega Ages collection might be worth getting for though Papercut, they tart stuff up wickedly these days - Galaxy Force especially is pure magic!

Why Fantasy Zone hasn't been turned into an FPS I don't know.
Missed.
Opportunity.
I really enjoyed the SMS version back in the day... Although the Shop bits freaked me out IIRC...
Should really hook up the VC version and see how terrible I am at it.
I loved getting the Opa Opa capsule toy in Shenmue. He rocks hard. I have the Game Gear version of Fantasy Zone. Great looking game that still plays well.
