Really when you think about it the Wii is perfectly designed for FPS. Releasing an FPS on the Wii is about as innovative as putting ketchup on chips. Tastes good though dunnit
C'mon man, Resident Evil 4 was as big a change as Star Fox Assault... the game is fundamental to the fixed perspective camera... on both counts.
Resident Evil 4 is my favourite game of the series and I think it's a work of genius!
No way is it an FPS! It's a million times more fun - plus Leon S Kennedy is a fucking PEEEEMMPP!!11 he can SUPLEX people down a flight of steps FFS!
If anything this thread has got me in the mood to get my data back and start caning Mercenaries Mode again, now that my Wii is modded. I've got a craving to go for the 100% neckbreak chain combo with Hunk again! XD - It's fucking MINT that the neckbreak is invincible once it kicks in - you can set it up so that the one enemy carrying dynamite is right in the middle of the crowd so that everything and everyone explodes around you as you snap some poor cunt's head! BLISS XD
and PS - proper Dan Smith Killer 7 pose when you get The Handcannon? PN03 tribute? Sitting on a throne like a badman for no reason other than.....he's a badman!

Resident Evil 4 is the shit to me because you can throw a bomb into a pool of water, climb down and pull out a MASSIVE fish that takes up nearly all your weapons/supply space so you ditch guns, ammo & herbs to accommodate this MASSIVE fish and every time you go to switch weapons (between the two tiny guns you left yourself with) its there and you laugh really hard and loud because of this MASSIVE fish you have got.
I love the MASSIVE fish, its the best thing in any game evar!!!!11!!!XD

If I still play games in any capacity when this gets released I'll be coppin' this as I haven't played it on the GC/PS2. See if it lives up to the hype, although I like the sound of Umbrella Chronicles better as it sounds like it twists the light gun genre.

Trying for the 124 kill combo, but man, you gotta pace things right or it goes to shit. Best I've managed so far is an 84 man kill combo.

I did a bit of work on one of the RE4 official guides and it was only then (cos I had to take untold screenshots which demanded repeated play of certain sections) that I got into Mercs.
It's addictive like crack! Like you say you have to set everything up just right; like running about to activate as many enemies as you can, deciding which time extends you collect - and then planning a route so you end up where the remaining ones are while keeping the combo going.
I was teefing when I was caning it cos I already had a "script" to follow cos of the guide. Definetly going to get back on this with my own plans as soon as I finish the main game again - got to the bit just before Hashley/Hash Leaf gets kidnapped in the castle.

Ya - I needs to get back into this next time I give FFXI a break as there's fuckall else to play right now. I put it on a few weeks back for one of my mates who doesn't reckon video games can be scary at all... I loaded him up on the prison island for a 15min sesh before he complained about feeling ill... he went to the toilet and then ended up hitting the deck with a massive crash shortly after, and then spoke gibberish for a couple of mins before coming round. I've never seen a game do that to anyone before.
I know a fair few peeps that aren't into games that bought a GC just for Res4 and then played nothing BUT Res4, to this day... I keep telling them about other class on the system but they won't listen.
One of the best games ever, not like that needs saying, I knew it would be after first seeing the Leon CG artwork with him wearing *MY* jacket. ^^ I still have it, war-torn with boulder-burns etc but I just can't get rid.

It wasnt the Brady one - but I did some work for another one (mostly testing the routines are solid and doing the screenshots), you just wait till you find out what I'm working on next!
