Their high capacity AA NiMH rechargables are half price at the moment. I've not tested these in a Wii remote, but technically I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't perform. Tempted to splash out about £16 to get 16 bats and try them out. That way I can have a fully charged set on standby.
My remotes have eaten batteries mostly because I've stuffed them in bags with the batteries still in and they keep coming to life when a button is pressed.

Sorry I meant £5 for a four pack of 2000mAH batteries (£20 for 16).
There are some higher cap AA's but they're more expensive.
Yeah, transporting Wii Remotes has it's perils.
I'm currently trying out some non-rechargeable uber batteries to see how long they last.
So far so good, but then I haven't been playing Zelda.

tempting alternative. Do I need 25% more charge??? Trying to find voltage figures of these and capacity of Duracell's for comparison. I know NiCad's used to be lower voltage then regular dry cells, not sure about these NiMH rechargables.
Ah HA.
Far as I can tell all the NiMH AAs are 1.2V. The question is whether the Remote can cope with 2.4V instead of 3V. I might pick up a pack from Maplin on my way home for evaluation purposes and see.
Duracell Alkaline bats are rated at 2850mAh, so the UniRoss batteries are comparible in terms of capacity. Just the voltage concerns to worry about...
It should be fine. The voltage drops off when a battery runs out anyway.
The Wii might think the batteries are running out, depending on how that is measured, but it should work.
Currently I'm using some usb batteries from firebox and they're pretty handy 'cause I can plug 'em into the Wii, 360 and computer when they're not in use. However, my set have become trapped in a usb port and have come apart slightly, I'll be getting them replaced. They've saved me a bit on batteries so far, but they do need charging often.

That's the rub isn't it. The 2.4V should be enough to drive the logic. But if it uses battery voltage as an indication of remaining charge then it could keep interupting the game to tell you they're flat.
Still if Emir has it working then it should be ok.

Haha, best start to a thread ever.
Voltage does not drop on recharge battery like traditional battery. They work fine. My 360 pad shows one bar on guide screen on full charge but it does not complain until battery is really empty and pad start to flash. May be I think it overflow battery indicator to show one bar
But any way they work fine in Wii remote. I have had 27 hours in Zelda and a little bit of Wii sports on one charge so far and now they show red on home screen.

Cool, thanks for that. I'll be picking up a bunch of these on my way home if they're in stock at my local branch
