I don't think we've ever really talked about Portal here, but it is the only reason I played (and only thing I played in) the Orange Box.
Everyone must know about it now, 3 hours of perfect FPS puzzling. I really don't know how they could improve upon it in a sequel though, and I think the lead designer has since left...
Yeah, its got nowhere to go game wise. Its a puzzle game, with a decent arc eh.
I always figured they were ramping up the tech for use in Half Life 3, to make that interesting.
Maybe this is another stop gap.
Mind you I said that about Portal and Left 4 Dead.
Portal is Aces. Never finished it though and my Save got wiped or some such shit so I'll have to start from the beginning

Yep.
I think the thought of having to work my way back through stuff that I'd already completed was what killed it. The fun is in solving the puzzles. Maybe my memory has faded sufficiently now that I can give it another go.
I need to stop faffing around with the Just Cause 2 demo. That game as basic as it is has something that draws me back in. Probably should pick up the full retail version and get my fill before moving on.
