Loved the first game so much, it's at number 20 in my favourite games of all time list. This promises much, especially as the nub can handle the kind of movements the game requires (that makes a change, eh?)

Hardly any information on this yet, which is funny as it's due out late May. Hope it reaches the heights of the first. Pre-order get, anyway.

This is just a port of the original, pointless.

Yeah, the most disappointing news in ages. If this version sells well, I guess we might see a sequel. But it means I'm cancelling my pre-order. To be honest, I was suspicious that the announcement was so close to the release date. They tend to only do that with ports Sad

Pre-order un-get....

Just thought of something else as well, the nub of doom would kill it.

GM needs you to hold the analog stick accurately in the right direction, and carefully rotate it to follow the song line.

Thats going to be arse with the nub.

Face it the nub is just arse full stop. I use it all the time, but it's never satisfying. If there's one element of the PSP design that needs fixing it's the nub. I don't really understand why they couldn't have put in a proper recessed analogue stick. I can only assume it was space limitations?

Yep.

The nub would actually be ok for this game. You don't need to exert different levels of pressure, just swing it from one point to another, like an old arcade/VCS paddle controller.

Well I have this now. Sort of an impulse purchase and I'm quite dissapointed I have to say. Now I've not played the original, but controlling the game with the nub is very easy, which leads me to believe that they might have increased the level of snap that the directional control has.

Loading times are agonisingly long. There's a strange mix of cut scene stylings too, which I assume is the same as the original some stills some FMV then game engine for the actual playable sections.

As a game it's stupidly easy and really very very short. I'm on the last level now and I think I've been playing it for less than 2 hours, not that that's a bad thing, but I sort of want to feel that there's a learning curve and I don't get that with this game. Difficulty is a little spikey and it looks like it will take me a fair few retrys to finish it. Hopefully a completion will open up a harder setting.

Overall it's a bit pants. It's possibly the worst rhythm action game I've played. Am I missing something?

I bought it a couple of months ago too, and didn't really dig it. I enjoyed it first time round though.

Hard mode is very difficult compared to normal, you'd probably find that more of a challenge.

I don't think you've missed anything - the appeal is the presentation and the songs, over the game itself. It ain't no Cool Cool Toon.

That and the addictive quality of hacking away at a level until you've cracked it... most people find the game more difficult that you have.

The presentation is rather excellent I'll give it that. Song wise it's pretty cool too. I did start to feel something during the duet on stage 9 in the stadium. That felt suitably epic in a triumphant Bill and Ted God Gave Rock and Roll to Ya sort of way Smile

The level with the skeletons gave me some real trouble for a while and I've still got that last level to go which looks like a bit of a bastard during the attack phases. Lots of closely packed picking that I'm rushing at the moment. I need to get the tune in my head to crack it.

I did go back and try to chip away a couple of the earlier levels for score, which was sort of fun...
