Went to watch Bruno over the weekend. Dragged out some friends so we all went as a group.
I have never cringed and felt so embarrassed watching something like this. I basically paid for a few gags mixed in with a ton of filth.
I laughed and reacted throughout the film, don't get me wrong. Some people got up and left the cinema 1/4 of the way through and when the credits rolled, deafening silence as everyone walked out. Everyone just exchanging sheepish looks at each other. The best bit of the entire film much like Borat and Jackass was the audience reactions of laughter and disgust.
Cinema was packed, there was always someone reacting to what was going on screen.
Sacha is just a crazy cunt. How he did not get killed in some of those skits or injured...severley is beyond me.
I'll never watch this again though. Can't imagine anyone wanting to go watch this when the hype has died down and it's only getting a few viewers. You'll just leave the cinema as if you've been assaulted.
Although, I should have expected that the subject matter would have just been a more extreme version of what he does on TV. Wasn't ready for it though!
This is still one of Bruno's best skits though
Ahaha

Hehe, very good
Keen to see this, I'll be surprised if it really is that shocking - we shall see!
In the spirit of the thread... watched Surveillance recently:

which, while a world away, is another extreme film. It is a pretty great and violent whodunnit, with some incredibly unlikeable characters. The entire film has a dream-like quality to it, yet I don't think anything is meant to be fantasy or imagined on the part of the characters, just some seriously fucked up events.
Probably the harshest tale of murder I've seen on screen for years, it stays with you... and for that, it comes heartily recommended
I'm getting unhealthily excited about "Moon".

But, hey, I am sure my crushing cynicism will kick in soon.
I've not seen anything recently - but "District 9" has got my hopes up for something a little more interesting than the usual rubbish;

This is officially the best film ever! Don't try to argue or reason; this is fact.
Last two films I've watched have been excellent - Gran Torino and Last King of Scotland...very interested in District 9 and Moon.
Iron Sky has my spider sense tingling

could be total bobbins, but the concept at least is interesting. Last film I saw at the cinema was Star Trek. Too much bloody lense flare in that film for my liking, but otherwise fun.
