I'm going to Punch Someone (Dororo: Blood Will Tell)

Someone at Sega actually. What the fuck were they thinking?

Without spoiling too much the final boss of the game requires 48 hits to kill, which must be entered as a specific combo string (illustrated by groups of "Circle" "Square" and "X" at the bottom of the screen) within a tight time limit.

Now Papercut tells me that the game can be finished by doing this combo killing in small groups, building up to a total of 48...

So I try to finish the game again using this technique, but OH NO Shock It's simply not true, you have to enter all 48 button presses (49 if you count the triangle needed to finish the combo) without a mistake in a single run, before the time runs out.

I've got the US version, it is possible that the Japanese version was tweaked to make it slightly easier I suppose. Nevertheless I'm totally pissed off. Sad

I'm just a mediator in proceeding but I though you had to buffer the combo by pressing Circle...?

You need to enter each group with a triangle for the hit to register, from what I've read...

I came so close with 45, if only we could have stood to play it for another hour, we might have just cracked it.

I'll have to try to finish Dororo at some point, and see if it can be done.

There's not any real buffering as such.

You can terminate the combo at anytime with the triangle button. Which leaves the other three face buttons free for attacks.

I don't have a problem with the system, it actually works pretty well. But 49 button presess performed rapidly without error is asking a bit much.

Hmm now I'm puzzled, you've obviously been to my house? Or am I jumping to conclusions.

Can't place your nick though... :?

I've not been trying all that hard, I just thought I'd give it another go after Paper said I could dial them in bit by bit. Sad

Erk, sorry, it looks like I passed on some duff information there.

Apparently the cool kids equip the twin or eight cloud to deal 2x or 3x the number of slices.

Ah ha!

now that would make it easy. I can get over 30 slices with ease. I've got about twenty swords in my arsenal, but I'm not sure I have one of the two you mention. Might have to go back into the earlier levels and dig them out.

Cheers (wasn't having a go by the way).

Papercut in duff information shocker. Seriously though, RED should be shot in the head for that boss...where's Matt Allen when you need him?

I'm never wrong.

If you look, I said 'from what I've read'.

Yay and thrice Yay!

With a little help from da boyz and gamefaqs Dororo has been put to bed permanently it transpired that I needed some twin cloud slasher sword thingy-ma-bob, which essentially halves the number of required hits.

With a good hour of backtracking we were able to hunt it down in a small cell that I'd obviously missed first time around :?

Anyway it's done now. I've still got to finish off the last boss in Project Altered Beast, but that's a whole new saga. Smile
