Not quite sure if this is just Amplitude with a guitar or not (if so, I don't see how it could possibly be as good), but either way me wants.

The question is - where to import?

Well... interesting one... it has strings? I thought it was a wibbler thing like in the arcades... evidently not, that could get "super complex".

Basically from the screenshots it looks like Amplitude with 6 "buttons" and with simultaneous "plucking".

More Traditional Guitar than Rocking out eh.

Now I've read teh preview...

It does have a wubbler and a fretboard. That makes more sense.

Isn't this is the arcade in some form already?

Yes I have, in Japan Konami's Guitar Freaks....

Rhetorical discussion.

The arcade is great. However why not go for the gran-daddy of them all and get

Quest for Fame.

(patiently waiting for someone to google the above and then explode)

I'm sure papercut would tell you just how good the game is... but he's too busy rocking!

Holy moly!

It's brilliant, my fingers are numb.

So well executed, Harmonix must have hired some graphics designers at last, and the controllers are great.

Played through easy and medium, just about got the hang of four buttons, but five defies my mind at the moment.

Still trying to get my head around 'hammer-on' and 'lift-off' (where you anticipate button presses without having to strum... weird).

Yeah, this is fucking great. Incredibly difficult too, I'll be playing it for years. Just like Amplitude.

I've been asked already; it isn't 'Samba good'... but it is about the next best music-controller thing there is Smile

Not sure about lift off, but hammer on is a well known electric guitar technique, you fret the note, but don't strum, producing a kind of muted tone.

What's the most number of buttons you have to use at the same time?

Easy, medium and difficult I've only come across two button chords.

Very difficult mode I've not tried, that might have more.

OOOooooo

Little know fact I've always loved the accordian. I even had one for a time. Never could get the hang of it though.

This looks INSANE!

Ah balls. They should do one really, I'd buy it. Curse my gullable eyes. Sad

Any news on a Euro release for GH?

Bought mine on Saturday.

I need practice to get beyond Easy, though I did manage 94% on I Love Rock and Roll at the second attempt (with a 111 not run). I was tired after about 4 songs.

At least I couldn't be seen by the neighbours!

Got this on Friday, and its brilliant! Ive played Amplitude before, but apart from Donkey Konga, I havnt played anyother peripheral music game such as samba, guitar freaks, Taikyo (namco drum thing).

But Im well happy with GH. ^_^ Its just so funny, and I love how the fret presses and the strumming are so well integrated into the track. I really feel that it realy is ME playing the guitar. Laughing out loud

Had little trouble with pressing the blue button (4th fret down) but ive kind of got used to it now. First I was placing 1 finger on the first buttons, but I found this way I was making to many mistakes, so i just use three fingers and shuffle down to the other 2 buttons if needed.

Favourite song so far is Thunder Kiss 65 and Take me out. xD Im not even into this genre of music, but I really love all the songs in the context of this game. Not a single track I have feels like an odd inclusion, they all work so well. Top job by Harmonix tbh.

Just got to Fat Lip, and that song has me owned, to fast for me at the moment, but ill crack it sooner or later. Smile

For my sins I wondered into Game saturday, saw some kids fumbling through the easiest of easy levels, so I ripped the axe from their sweaty mitts, pumped it up to hard, perfected and did a shirt rip/knee slide into the adoring masses....or did I just wondered past a pretend not to want to want a play....I forget.

Still, now it's in PALand I could pick it up for less than I was expecting.
