Whilst this article is over egging it slightly. It's still rather funny. Laughing out loud

Cool. Anapod has a web interface, and should be able to do the same for cheaps (its a one off license cost).

Even though the video playback at present is limited, it's still a bloody good bonus for a console that costs 180 notes. I wonder if the full version of Wii opera will include full screen playback of video? That really would be one in the eye for Microsoft.

Is anyone else getting the feeling that the Wii badly needs hacking to buggery? You get the feeling there's bags of untapped potential there.

Unless a path to official homebrew was opened by Nintendo, that would be a Bad Thing. The potential for VC piracy is too great.

Which makes me worry. Seems likely the Wii will be hacked sooner or later.

available on Linux and Windows Smile

--EDIT-- AH no that's not going to work is it... At least I don't think it will allow you to stream the music to a web browser only control the feed. Needs further investigation

I had an really tedious thought about the significance of the SD card... as we all the SD card is instrinsically "secure"... so if you were Nintendo you could release a Movie Channel and then films on SD cards... or downloadable films to SD from your PC... a kinda PSP'esque content delivery system, but for SD plebs.

You could release the Movie Channel as a cd disc and you would'nt have to be online or anything...

The Wii is as seamlessly expandible as any of the other machines... I'm still expecting DVD playback to be in software and a Wii Ware product.

I can't imagine Nintendo missing that trick. I'm sure DVD playback will be available eventually. The problem is I want it all now, don't want to wait for the drip feed of new stuff.
