I don't want this gaming divinity in the same thread as dirty "Fun"land.

I Love this game! LOVEITLOVEITLOVEITLOVE!!!11 XD

Will post up a load of the boss videos I found, I try to memorise these but end up forgetting a lot of it by the time I get to Casino. I REALLY badly want to be able to beat the electro funk whale "Great Thing" this has always been the most epic boss in Darius.

Ancient Barrage is a total fuck. He pwned me so hard it hurt bad. I'm probably going to be in town again in the next couple of weeks. This is pretty much the only 'new' thing available and worthy of play atm.

And those CHOOONS are ace Smile

I have seen that in loads of Japanese videos - it works in all versions, but have never once managed to pull it off. The Alpha Beam is back too! Shock

I want this game at home! T_T - even if they had to present it in a tiny sliver of a leterrbox I'd be all over it.

The cab is in a right filthy state now Sad

They don't perform any maintenance at Casino. The screens are covered in a thick layer of dust, one of the joysticks has been ripped out of its housing and they've fucked the sound up while they were at it.

I NEED this game at home! NEED!!!!

Oh man that sucks. I was toying with the idea of going down there the other day for a game, but felt too tired, so went for home instead. I'll be sure to bring some industrial screen wipes if I make it down there again...

The dust is all on the inside, the mirror and the screen which lays flat is proper covered. The game looks murky and washed out as a result, the glare from outside kills it further - you properly cannot see the left side of the screen unless you sit on the 2nd position. But you can't because neanderthal cunt has ripped the joystick out of its housing.

It takes 10 minutes tops to sort this out. I always used to properly clean out all of our cabs which used mirrors, upright Virtua Cop for example. All you need is a screwdriver, a can of air duster and a lint free cloth - that's too much effort for the guys at Casino though.

Another needle in the side of Android users everywhere. Anyone got an iPad and a spare £7.49? Because this looks totally mint.

Why the hell are they releasing such GOLD on a fucking phone!?!!? There is no justice in this world T_T

I finally met "CHISUS!", the guy who's scores I've been blindly chasing for months. I had absolutely no idea how he was scoring so high, but after some coaching I've taken the top spot on route A.

The key to it is the multiplier and it all loops back into the Burst Unit gauge management. You need to use the (hold) Burst Beam against the last enemy in a group to increase the multiplier, a small quick activation to finish an enemy set does the job.

The other thing I was missing is that you can "chain" the Burst Beam, keeping the gauge from depleting similarly to when you use the angled beam for defence. The hold function Burst Beam actually builds meter for every enemy killed, but as the gauge drains so quickly you need a massive and dense wave of enemies in order to keep the gauge from depleting. This mechanic has completely changed the way I play the game, instead of being wary of the (hold) Burst Beam I'm now memorising the exact places where the enemies are most dense and wiping them all out with it. You get tons more points for carefully planned Burst chains, the key is to gain meter with the defence style beam in order to keep a Burst chain going for as long as possible.

This game is digital crack. How could they release it for a fucking phone!?!? T_T

Yep.

No iCade support either, so basically you're screwed. I doubt this will get a port to android, which would at least allow you to plug in a sixaxis controller and with a great deal of pain probably cludge the touchscreen controls to a mapping on the sixaxis Sad.

The iPAD 4:3 screen ratio is about as far away from the dual widescreen setup of the arcade as you can get.

They really should stop dicking around a port it to XBLA and PSN.

PS3 and 360 development is really expensive, which is why the game was based around PSP architecture to begin with.

It's not like it wouldn't sell in Japan but both XBLA and PSN have global IP approval processes, so you'll get some twat in London or Los Angeles whining about the fact they don't get the game scuppering a chance of a release (or at least delaying the chance to the point of the developer being forced to move on).

The App Store is a bit simpler and more regioned still, so you still have Apple as the gatekeepers but the guy vetting the game in Tokyo will get the fact that there's a market keen for it there. Plus, the hardware is comparable so porting would be relatively straightforward.

G.rev had to get a large wad of investment from Microsoft to sex up Senko no Ronde for 360 (as that was originally a Naomi board game) and likewise for its sequel. So something could happen, it depends on how prestigious they rate Darius Burst to be I suppose (as they'd only fund it from a brand strengthening point of view most probably, bit like with Radiant Silvergun).

Sod it. I'm going to have to do some soul serching as to whether I can justify getting hold of the PSP version through the PSN store. It will be a massive pain in the butt to sort out, but there doesn't appear to be any light at the end of this tunnel short of getting a bloody iPad.

Do not do it.

The PSP version is balls. It is not the same game as Another Chronicle or it's sequels, it's completely bare bones in comparison and the mechanics I talk about are not present. The 2 types of Burst Beam are in there, but the Beam Counter markers, the deep gauge management relating to the multiplier are not.

Sad that's annoying, but I think you've saved me a chunk of change Smile.

If they ported back AC to PSP or Vita then that would be OK. I would still prefer a PSN/XBLA release or even a full retail release on those platforms, but based on what Cacky has said in the Sine Mora thread that is probably unlikely since they've gone the iOS route...

BALLS!

Yeah, the PSP version of Darius Burst isn't a patch on the newer arcade versions (even SP is better).

Absolutely epic run here;

MASSIVE Burst chain at 4:34 - that's what I talking about; as long as the destructable stuff is densely packed, the beam never runs out! This is the key to high scores.

Really hope this comes to xbla in orginal aspect ratio I think that playstation dosent want any games to go on to there console that are not fall screen and wide screen supported thats why all the cave shumps are n xbox 360 and not psn

Screw PSN then. A full double wide mode would be awesome for a home port. Or I'd take system link support with 2 consoles and TVs (not really convenient obviously.

they could just port to PC and offer a dual head mode, that would rock.
