I haven't really played the game that much, but seeing as the add on is perhaps likely to be in short supply I thought I'd pre-order it while the opportunity was there. I have mostly been playing Ouendan lately though my American Nintendogs finally arrived from Movietyme, so I will at last be able to read all the messages.
Difficulty is up a notch on the original songs, lots more fast repeating sequences, which always catch me out on the few original songs they appear in too.
Lots of nice new Nintendo tunes, Yoshi's Island, the pdf Mario 64 slider tune, Animal Crossing.
Lots of J-Pop, including a few that were doing the rounds as fan submissions. Also includes crazy Romanian pop song Dragostea Din Tei
One nasty 'feature' though is the fact that scores are not saved for the add on songs... bah.
If you are a music lover, then the unique new game Jam with the Band will help transform your Nintendo DS family of handheld consoles into a fun, portable music maker allowing you to get creative with your friends. Program a selection of famous songs and share with other players, or jam with up to seven other Nintendo DS owners to a collection of popular songs from a song library which boasts such classics as ‘ABC’ to more contemporary chart toppers such as ‘I’m a Slave 4 U’. If you are after a unique and addictive gameplay experience this Spring then be sure to turn up the volume and Jam with the Band as it launches exclusively on Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi across Europe on 21 May 2010.
ABC was a download for DX, and in fact there was an incongruous bunch of western songs available to download authored by Nintendo when DX was released. Suggests that this will in fact be DX based, but also doesn't mention upload/downloads and an English version of the original has been seen. Hmm.
I predict now we'll see 25% classical, 25% Nintendo songs, 25-50% western pop, 0-25% J-Pop at a total of around 40 songs. I don't think we'll see user generated song downloads given probable licensing problems, but its possible Nintendo will provide a download service for it. Would be nice to see otherwise though eh.
It was still listed on nintendo.co.uk from the original planned 2005 release until recently, but taken down now, which might suggest the details have changed.
An English version of the first game turned up at the Edinburgh game developers conference a couple of years ago.
I was wondering why Iwata was giving in props in his DSi XL interview, good stealth marketing..
Band Brothers gets mentioned in about 5 or 6 of those Iwata Asks interviews, but I don't think they've ever noted the English title was Jam With The Band... not so clever

More possible bits of info:
- 50 song download limit rather than 100 (boo)
(though this might really mean 50 initially available to download)
- 50 songs included (woo!)
- Wii Jam with the Band Channel! Finally a use for my PAL Wii!
It comes with 50 pre-installed songs, and approximately 50 more will be downloadable via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. You will also be able to upload your own "versions" of the tracks, which can be downloaded by other users.
Ah - perhaps you are limited to the 50 additional songs they make available, and user submitted remixes of those songs?
Huzzah.
Word on the street was it was all going Pete Tong.
I only ordered mine at the weekend..
I have no excuse.
I am intregued as to how its going to function.
I think trying to use it should be somewhat interesting initially!!
Still on Level 3 Pro though. Should get the practice in really. Ouendan is kinda glued into the DS atm.

clean urls ftw.
Superb. I've been playing this again recently.

Also, you'd guess they are winding down DS development for 3DS, so scraping the nihongo barrel for games is a good idea eh.
A couple of song titles mentioned here:
