Mine was shipped today, and i'm really looking forward to giving it a go. Miyamoto's involvement made it a must, really. Anyone else getting it?

I'm a touch worried about the lingo... as I was aparently rightly so with Kirrer 7, so I'm gonna wait for you earlier adopters with the disposible income to burn a holw in their wallet for me... cheers! Laughing out loud

Kirrer 7, lol Laughing out loud

Well, hopefully Chibi will get a US release, but I don't think it's guaranteed yet, is it? Anyway, you can let the crazy young Treb trailblaze for you whilst old duffer Jibs sits back in his comfy armchair and plays the latest FIFA Tongue

Why I orta...nggghhh

I was looking at nintendo.co.jp and saw Chibi was out soon, looked at the manic vids and decided I'd leave it a bit... as much as I am a fan of mania, my thirst for third person games is waining a bit especially after being forced to complete Dororo for Mads and Paper.

Cheeky brer. This looks insanely good. I'm having a game buying down time though, what with recent purchases (Kunoichi) and some birthday pressies (Lego Starwars) I'm loaded to the rafters with unplayed goodies at the moment. Plus I've got a whole bunch of stuff winging it's way from Japan including a PSP.

I'll be looking forward to your impressions though. Smile

Chances are I'll be ordering this come the weekend... and possibly looking too offload both of my Kirrer 7s, depending on how I go.

Boku wa Chiisai did a similar thing a few years ago.

Still hasn't showed up. Play Asia are pretty shocking these days when it comes to delivereies. I would have used Lik Sang, but they din't have it available for pre-order when I was ordering.

Paper has troubles with that, its selecting "Cycle Courier" that does it.

Play-Asia are still decent I reckon, the problem for me always comes once the parcel reaches the UK (couple of days) then hits Parcel Force...

Mine has been dispatched too, but probably won't be here until next week now.

I don't believe it...

.....but Katamari turned up this morning. Play Asia are a joke these days:

Lik Sang sent Katamari 07/07/05, arrived 11/07/05
Play Asia sent Chibi 20/06/05, still hasn't arrived.
And this is far from the first time. Still, it's the last time I order from them.

Strange, I've never had a problem with P-A. Have you emailed them to find out what the hell is going on?

still waiting on mine too, but that was delayed waiting for another game, so fair play.

No, Trev, they always take over 2 weeks. It only seems to be the north, though, not the south. Spoke to a few people, and this seems to be the consensus. Weird, as I have no problem with the post delivering Lik Sang stuff.

That is so bizarre, only thing I can think of is that it comes through a different port UK side and it takes longer to clear customs or some such?

Still it is very odd.

very strange that its taking so long....didnt play asia ship early too?

my stuff from them usually takes at least 2 weeks,
so i decided to give yes-asia i try on this occasion, think i've had it around a week now.

but i just cant make up my mind on who to use these days.
i cant think that the two weeks delivery has anything to do with play-asia.
unfortunately the days of getting things through tokuda, and arriving in 3-4 days are long gone.

Got this whilst on my holids... had a play... but it's too Japanese for me to have any real fun... It is generally playable thanks to the excellent design, but trial and error is only so much fun, and glossing over the story with the gameFAQ translation makes me feel I am missing out on half the charm, and possibly half the gameplay. Certainly has alot of charm though, but it might get sold soon I reckon.

This actually arrived with me about a week ago (forgot to tell you), and the reason for the delay was a friggin customs charge. It must have been sitting in custom's hands (after they'd re-opened it, no doubt as part of a random sweep or something) for a good two weeks. £10 customs charge. Really soured me against even opening the game, to be honest.

So, if it's text-heavy and difficult to figure out, i'll sell it as mint.

Ah, don't worry about it. I think i'll sell it anyway. As for getting on with stuff, most of my games are Jpn region, and I usually figure stuff out fairly well.

Basically Zelda64 but replace Link with a Robo(t) and Hyrule with a House....not had any boss battles as such....and no swords.

Hmm, its not that involved.

I've not had any real problems with it, there is the occasional impassible obstacle that has me running to gamefaqs, but thats all.

It is slated for an English release though I think.

Jibs - how far have you got?

....well....ok, it's a tenuous extrapolation, but basically the emphasis is on exploration and it's third person and certain fiddly 3d person game functionality is automated, such as jumping, climbing etc.

I've basically "done the basement" but to get there and to know what I was meant to be doing at why, I had to scan the GameFAQs text, and even then it's a bit like playing Turok, you can't see more than three feet infront of your face in terms of story or progress. Y'know I've got the big tube thing, and a big tube holster and I imagine its got something to do with the Deku-robo fella, but ummm its a bit foggy.

Any chance of one of you guys who own it, to do a review of it? I'd love to read some proper info, instead of half assed impressions plus reviews of this title are very sparse.

I ordered Initial D PS2 the other month and it still ain't turned up, if games go missin they're a pain in the arse for gettin em to resend, they tell u wait a fortnight, then email em, then they get u wait another fortnight, then they try checking their end if they can track it down, 3 weeks later u can email em again (I'm at that stage on tuesday) and see if they'll actually send out another one then.

I don't have much luck with this game, first time I bought it I paid £70 for the game alone in total inc customs sting and postage and Parcel Farse took nearly a fortnight to deliver it (on the EMS thing) even tho I'd paid for the fast shipping that was meant to arrive within 3 days Sad, then to top it all off when I sold my Jpn PS2 to fund living at uni for a few extra weeks (times were hard in the first term of the first year Tongue) dad left the disc in the drive when he posted it off so now I jus have a lovely Asian ver box and manual. Now this one eludes me too, I don't think the game likes me very much Sad

Anywayz... on topic, Chibi looks awesome, but I'm also worried about the dialogue Tongue I'd heard that it was due in the US on the 11th of November, but since that Nintendo have published a US release list up to 2006 and it ain't on it Sad so I'm really tempted to import it an pick up the US ver if it ever happens. Reminds me so much of Toy Commander Laughing out loud

My impressions of Chibi-Robo Park Patrol (as posted on another forum)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

My copy finally arrived today and I've put about 2 hours into it so far. And the verdict? I love it.

It's not really like the first game at all. There's none of the vertical exploration that made the GameCube game so fascinating but it's still fun in its own way. The stylus implementation in particular is very good. As everyone knows by now, you spin a disc to play music and push a plunger to squirt water but what you might not know is that the way in which you do those things has a lot of importance. Spin the disc too fast or too slow and the music will speed up or slow down and will be inneffective. There are several songs and each has an optimum speed so you'll have to get used to this idea. The water, similarly, squirts at different speeds depending on how much you push the plunger in but you should be careful not to "squirt your load" (ahem) all at once.

I should mention the characters too. I've only met a handful so far but each one has been quite quirky and amusing, just like those in the first game. They're a definite highlight.

It's a shame this game has been released at the same time as Zelda. I think most will choose to ignore it in favour of Phantom Hourglass, but it's definitely well worth checking out. It's quirky, it's addictive and it has one of the best 3D engines I've seen on the DS.

Love it.
