Lots of lovely coverage today and it's clear that this is NOT Virtual On, it's much more analogue and grittier...

It's also using the new arcade board, Ring Edge.

The mecha are called "Blast Runners".

It's another "look but don't touch" - just like VF5R, I hate this country! XO

The weird thing is that the new new board is 30% cheaper than Lindbergh, so it's not a cost issue. The killer is that it's networked though and the UK has a shit net infrastructure compared to Japan.

LOL beat me to it Cacky. This looks aces. Gutted that I'll probably never get to play it. The first thing that popped into my head was Outtrigger + Mecha = WIN.

Let's hope it's a comercial success and gets ported eh.

When I saw that video my heart filled with dread, as all the touch screen stuff would be WRECKED in a UK arcade within fucking minutes. I so want to play this though.

Exactly - just like with the new Shining Force it wouldn't last a single day in this shithole. Or they'd just stick an extra sheet of glass over the screen rendering the game unplayable (not that anyone would notice).

That mouse-like gadget would end up being pulled off the panel too...

Been playing this loads and it's bloody class. I doubt it would last long in a UK arcade though.

B-E-A-UTIFUL.

Any news on a console port for this? I'm guessing that Wii U or 3DS could work well with this.

Sega are still updating the arcade game though (with a massive new updated to happen on the 29th in fact). Border Break is a massive cash cow for them in the arcades at the moment, so a home version would kill that off. There are rumours of a companion game though, we'll see I suppose.
