ATEI has been fun so far Smile

Street Fighter IV owns
Battle Fantasia is fun, gonna buy it if I get a 360
Blazblue wasnt on freeplay, and player 2 had no credits
Hummer looks amazing, gonna play it tomorrow
Rambo isn't bad I guess
H2Overdrive is basically Hydro Thunder 2, it's good
Sega Rally 3 is Sega Rally (the console game) but 60fps
R-Tuned seems kinda boring, maybe I'm just bad at it

that's about it really. Is anyone else there?

Is it that time already?

I gave up on it years ago, "arcades" in this country will never go anywhere or achieve any kind of success unless operators join the rest of us in the 2000s (even doing the 90s right would be fantastic!). They're so hopelessly out of touch, it's shocking how even SFIV (despite running on what is basically a Windows PC) is still nowhere to be found after almost a year!

To be honest I'm mostly there to rinse free games for 3 days solid, it's not like I'm expecting operators to actually buy any of the decent ones. I talked to a few distributors about importing games from Japan, and it seemed that in this country standard arcade games (ones that run in normal cabs with a joystick & buttons, as opposed to racing/lightgun etc) sell more to collectors and enthusiasts than actual arcade owners. Which is ridiculously depressing when you think about it Sad

Whoever goes needs to take some serious footage........

Out of curisosity, is this event shrinking in size in terms of capacity on a yearly basis?

I don't have a camera, so just type ATEI into youtube and sort by date. For example, here's footage of Sega's new game, Brick People:

And ATEI stays the same size each year, although the vast majority of floorspace is dedicated to slot machines and rides and so on as opposed to 'proper' arcade games.

I popped in, have some photos.

Sega Brick People is Game of the Show.

Difficult to find games I've not played already, or actually want to play, or have the ability to play, or the patience to wait to play.

In reality I managed 2 actual games... Brick People and R-Tuned (which is utter bobbins).

GTI Club Supermini Fiesta looked whack, and Hummer looked like SegaRaceTV.5 so I wasn't too motivated to hit any of that at all.

A lot of looking.

shame about R-Tuned, I had some hope for that.
